Despite US President Donald Trump's public frustration with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin, the latter has reportedly told Iran to accept a US nuclear deal.
Putin has privately signaled support for a deal that would prevent Iran from enriching uranium, sources familiar with the talks told Axios.
Russia has supported Iran on the nuclear issue for years, but now Moscow has reportedly asked Iran to agree to "zero enrichment."
The reported change in Putin's stance comes after the 12-day war between Israel and Iran, which also saw the US carry out attacks on Iranian nuclear sites, Sky News reports.
It is worth noting that the stalemate over the peace agreement in Ukraine has somewhat damaged the friendly relations between Trump and Putin, however, the continuation of negotiations is not ruled out.
