Croatian Deputy Prime Minister Josip Dabro, who is also Minister of Agriculture, has resigned after a video was released showing him shooting himself nine times with a pistol.
In the video, Dabro is in the passenger seat of the car and is wearing shorts and a T-shirt, indicating that the video was recorded during the summer.
The folk song “Karanfil se na put sprema” (Carnation is preparing for the journey) by Zehre Bajraktarevic can be heard in the background. It appears that he shot near a residential area as street lighting can be seen.
Dabro first loads the pistol and says, "Only for my brother Mario." After the video was released, the relevant Croatian authorities have launched an investigation.
