A state of emergency has been imposed in 26 cities of Serbia due to heavy rains, while 62 people have been evacuated.
" At the moment, the state of emergency has been established in 26 cities and districts. Last night and in the morning, a critical situation was created in the cities of Krušević, Jagodina, Kragujevac and Sombor, where due to heavy rains, water has flooded the courtyards and residential buildings", the announcement of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Serbia states .
The ministry reported that the most critical situation has been created in the city of Çaçak. More than 200 buildings were flooded there as storm drains could not cope with the rainfall.
According to the ministry, 762 firefighters and rescue teams are working to eliminate the consequences of the storms.
