Queues and traffic in Morina, tourists from Kosovo flock to Albania

The flow of travelers at the border between Albania and Kosovo has reached record levels during the months of May and June. Over 2 million entries and exits were processed at the border points of the Kukës district, as thousands of citizens from Kosovo have chosen the Albanian coast, the Valbona National Park and other tourist destinations to spend their weekends and summer holidays.

The Director of the Kukes Local Directorate for Border and Migration, Arben Alika, announced that over 2 million entries and exits have been registered over the last two months, with an average of more than 42 thousand people per day.

According to him, the majority of travelers are Kosovo citizens. To cope with the high influx, the Border Police has increased the number of counters and officers at all border crossing points in the region, with a special focus on the Morina Border Crossing Point.

"During the months of May and June, over 2 million entries and exits were processed, with an average of more than 42 thousand people per day. The vast majority of them are citizens of Kosovo," he said.

During the first four hours of this Saturday alone, 12,431 citizens from Kosovo entered Albania from Morina in 2,879 vehicles and buses, once again confirming this point as the main gateway for Kosovar tourists to the country.
