A Hungarian military helicopter crashed this Wednesday in Croatia, and two crew members were killed.
There was another crew member on board, for whom searches have started at the scene. The military vehicle was found in the Cikola river canyon near the central Croatian city of Drnis.
The armed forces of Croatia confirmed the accident, while launching a helicopter and plane to check the area.
The Croatian Ministry of Defense announced that they had joined the search operation.
"On Wednesday, the Mi-171 Sh helicopter from Divulja and the Pilatus aircraft of the Croatian Air Force were involved in the search for a military helicopter that crashed in the area of Pakova settlement in Šibenik-Knin county. It is not a helicopter of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Croatia", they wrote on Twitter.
The reasons why the helicopter lost control and crashed are not known, while there is no official information from the authorities as to why the Hungarian military vehicle was flying in Croatian airspace.
