Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky accused Russian President Vladimir Putin of delaying a US-proposed 30-day ceasefire in the war in Ukraine, after the Russian leader expressed "reservations" about the potential deal.
During his Thursday night speech, Zelensky criticized Putin's response, which he called too predictable, too manipulative.
"Putin, of course, is afraid to tell President Trump directly that he wants to continue this war, that he wants to kill Ukrainians ," he said.
Zelensky accused the Russian leader of dragging out negotiations instead of rejecting the deal outright.
He reiterated that Ukraine is ready to work as quickly as possible, as constructively as possible with the United States and Europe to strengthen an agreement.
