French Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrot has spoken about the high risk of war in Europe.
In an interview with France Inter radio, he says that the risk of war in Europe has never been so high, as according to him the threat has been approaching Europe for 15 years.
Asked by France Inter to respond to Trump's accusation that Zelensky was "gambling with World War III", Barrot acknowledged the risk of the conflict spreading, writes the BBC.
"Never has the risk of a war in Europe, in the European Union been so high... the threat continues to approach us, the front line continues to move closer to us," he said.
Barrot said Sunday's summit in London served as a "wake-up call for Europeans who refused to see the reality of things," who, he said, are now convinced that the continent must ensure its own defense and security.
In the near future, he says it is “possible” that talks between Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and US President Donald Trump will resume, saying there is a “common awareness” of interests between Ukraine, the United States and Europe to end imperialist desires.
"We must remain united in our goal to end Russia's war of aggression," he said.
