Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has received a draft of a peace plan from the United States, his office said in a statement. He added that Zelensky expects to discuss diplomatic options with Donald Trump in the coming days.
The news comes after reports today about a "secret" peace plan negotiated between the US and Russia.
According to reports, Ukraine would have to make significant territorial concessions, give up some types of weapons, reduce the size of its armed forces, and recognize Russian as an official language as part of the proposed plan.
Zelenskyy "agreed to work on the points" of the plan after a meeting today, the statement, which was shared on the 'X' platform, said.
"Ukraine has been striving for peace since the first seconds of the Russian invasion, and we support all substantive proposals that are capable of bringing about real peace. Ukraine has supported President Trump's proposals since the beginning of this year to end the bloodshed. We are ready now to work constructively with the American side and our partners in Europe and the world, so that the result is peace ," the statement said.
