After the knife attack this afternoon in Dublin where five people were injured, including three children, protests and civic anger have erupted.
Violent scenes erupted near the scene of the attack, where three children, a woman and a man were injured. The crowd of protesters clashed with the police and fired fireworks at them.
As a result of the protests, a tram and a police car were burnt. Irish police have arrested a man following a stabbing outside a primary school in central Dublin.
The suspect is said to be from Algeria and that a large number of immigrants live in the neighborhood where the incident took place.
The protesters managed to break through the police cordon, while shouting "Sporrini", referring to the immigrants. They even carried Irish flags and placards with the slogan "Irish Lives Matter".
