Florida is on alert as Hurricane Milton approaches the state's west coast, bringing serious dangers. This is the second hurricane in less than two weeks, after Hurricane "Helene".
Milton is the "worst" storm to hit the Tampa area in more than 100 years, according to the NHC.
Florida Governor Ron DeSandis urged residents to prepare for a "ferocious" storm, calling it the strongest hurricane to hit the Gulf of Mexico since 2005.
"Let's prepare for the worst and hope it abates." "If you choose to stay in one of the areas where evacuation has been ordered, you will die."
Milton has now intensified into a Category 5 hurricane with winds of up to 350 km/h and is expected to make landfall in the Tampa Bay area on Wednesday.
So far, at least nine counties have issued mandatory evacuation orders, and authorities are urging residents to comply without delay.
On Tuesday morning, the cyclone crossed the northern coast of the Yucatan Peninsula in Mexico.
