Iranian military analysts say Tehran has used a new jet-powered drone for the first time during nighttime attacks against Israel. Earlier, the Iranian Navy had also announced its use in the Sea of Oman.
Iran used a new jet-powered drone during nighttime attacks against Israel, according to statements published by the Iranian Tasnim news agency.
According to Seyed Mohammad Taheri, a military analyst at Tasnim's Department of Combat Development Analysis, it is the "Shahed Danaye" drone, an unmanned aerial vehicle that had not previously been publicly displayed.
Taheri stated that this drone was used during a night operation against targets in Israel, marking its known operational debut so far.
A few days ago, the Islamic Republic of Iran Navy announced that it had fired warning shots at two US destroyers, identified as DDG-103 and DDG-87, in the Sea of Oman. According to Iranian authorities, Qadir missiles and Shahed Danaye drones were used in that operation.
Information on the technical characteristics and operational capabilities of the new drone remains limited, while Iranian sources present it as a new jet-powered platform developed by the country's military industry.
