Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk has warned that the biggest danger to NATO is not external threats, but the internal divisions that are deepening within the Alliance.
In a reaction on the X platform, he stressed that recent international developments, including Israel and the United States' conflict with Iran, have fueled tensions between allies.
Tusk's statement also comes at a time when debates about the US role in Europe have increased, following President Donald Trump's stances on the possible withdrawal of US troops from countries such as Germany and Italy.
" The greatest danger to the transatlantic community is not external enemies, but the continuing disintegration of our Alliance. We must all do everything to reverse this harmful trend ," Tusk wrote.
He underlined that NATO unity remains essential for security and stability, at a time when relations between allies face new challenges.
