Here comes Ella Emhoff's first reaction after her stepdaughter Kamala Harris lost in Tuesday's presidential election.
Harris's sister, Emhoff, was photographed crying as Harris delivered her speech at Howard University on Wednesday.
In Emhoff's post a day later she reposted one of the photos as she addressed the images with a caption explaining her emotional outburst.
"There really are no words. We will all get through this", it was said, among other things, in one of her posts on the Instagram social network, where she also used unethical words.
Emhoff assured followers that she was not having a mental breakdown, following rumors that she had checked into an institution following the election results.
"There are rumors about me going through a mental crisis and being in a hospital. It's not true. There is nothing wrong with showing emotions and crying. I've struggled with my mental health my whole life and I'm not ashamed of it," she wrote on her social network.
