President Donald Trump has been the focus of criticism and commentary online. He once again expressed admiration for press secretary Caroline Leavitt as she spoke at a rally in Pennsylvania.
Trump traveled to the Pocono Mountains on Tuesday to give a speech about the economy, but he quickly got off topic and praised Leavitt's looks and skills.
"We even brought our superstar today, Caroline," Trump told the MAGA supporters in the crowd, who erupted in cheers.
"Isn't Caroline wonderful? You know, when she comes on television, Fox, I mean, they dominate, they dominate when she gets up there with that beautiful face and those lips that don't stop-op-op-op, like a little machine gun ," the president said.
This isn't the first time Trump has made similar comments about Leavitt. In the past, including an interview with Newsmax and conversations aboard Air Force One, he has used the same comparison about her lips.
Leavitt, who has been part of Trump's communications teams since 2019, is the youngest press secretary in White House history and has built a high profile in conservative media.
During the speech, which had more of a rally feel, Trump also attacked former President Joe Biden and Democratic Congresswoman Ilhan Omar, repeating baseless allegations about her private life. He admitted that he “didn’t read anything off the teleprompter” and mocked his speechwriters.
Leavitt, married and the mother of a young son, shared excerpts from the speech on social media, as online reactions to Trump's comments continue to be strong.
