Criticized for flattery towards Trump, NATO chief insists: He deserves all the

Mark Rutte, the head of NATO, has been thrust into the spotlight for his overly positive and often servile comments towards US President Donald Trump.

At a recent press conference, Rutte responded to a question from Sky News journalist Deborah Haynes whether his language towards Trump makes him look weak. "No, I don't think so. It's a matter of taste, but he's a good friend," he said, avoiding any criticism.

Rutte went on to say that Trump "deserves all the praise," especially for his role in pushing NATO countries to increase military spending. He also mentioned Trump's intervention in the Iran issue, calling it "decisive and targeted action" to prevent Iran from acquiring nuclear capabilities.

Earlier, Trump had posted a message on social media written by Rutte himself, filled with exaggerated tones of praise. Rutte even called Trump "father" in the context of efforts to resolve the crisis between Iran and Israel.
