US President Donald Trump considered the NATO summit in The Hague fantastic.
"I support Article 5," the US president added.
The statement came shortly after leaders of NATO member states agreed to invest 5% of GDP each year until 2035 in essential defense and related spending.
Specifically, according to the NATO Summit joint statement, allies pledged to increase their annual defense spending to a total of 5% of GDP by 2035.
Furthermore, the leaders reaffirmed their commitment to the principle of collective defense, based on Article 5, which provides that "an attack against one is an attack against all."
