Albanian journalist Fahri Musliu has commented on the accusations coming from Serbia that he is the father of Aleksandër Vucic.
In an interview for Al Jazeera, Musliu said that this is not the first time that the journalist's name is mentioned in terms of various issues, as he emphasized that he is not Vucic's father. He further said that Vucic is being monstrously attacked by the Serbian regime.
"It is not the first time, because my name has been mentioned for 13 years in various media and among citizens across the Balkans, such as those of Spanish or Turkish series, and apparently it will not be the last time either. My name and reputation as a journalist is now being used by the Serbian regime, accusing the opposition of being so evil and monstrously attacking the president. And President Vučić reacted to some slander from unknown portals and within a few days mentioned my name several times in several television appearances. Later, a video with his father also appeared, I don't know why. That video is circulating on social networks and portals and Vucic is saying that I am not his father, which caused an avalanche of reactions in Serbia and Kosovo and throughout the Balkans," said Mysliu.
The Albanian journalist called the writings of the media, which according to him deal with rumors and fabrications, as disgusting.
"The most disgusting was a written statement by the chief of staff of the president of Kosovo on platform X, which was reported by almost all media in Kosovo.
It is miserable and miserable, sad and primitive and very irresponsible when, first of all, politicians, but also journalists, deal with gossip, fiction, slander and the privacy of others, for the sake of some personal interest and impotence, to track, without thinking that they are causing great harm, insult and mental pain to the other persons mentioned.
I have never met Aleksandar Vučić, the only thing is that a few years ago I asked several times, through his media contact service, to meet me to discuss this defamation, but only once I received the answer that "the president did not he can take because he is very busy", he said.
Mysliu also made a brief summary of how he met the mother of the Serbian president.
"I have known his mother Angelina since 1985 or 1986, as well as dozens of colleagues, journalists from all over the previous country, when we met for the first time in the Serbian Parliament, from where we reported as a correspondent, she for RTV Novi Sad, and I for the Pristina daily Rilindja. That union in assemblies lasted until the dissolution of the former Yugoslavia and the formation of the new Federal Republic of Yugoslavia. She was a classy, educated and cultured woman, a true professional journalist, a sincere colleague and friend, a good wife and a very devoted mother. And I'm sorry that even she in the old days experienced such traumas from dishonest people who don't care about truth and facts. I have never worked at Serbian Television or in Tanjug, as some psychopaths declare, or various media write, someone even mentions that I came to Belgrade in 1968. And the truth is the following, which I repeat for the umpteenth time times, even though the facts are not important to individuals and some media, not to mention social networks. After graduating from high school, in June 1967, on November 1, I started working as a teacher at Elementary School "29. November" in the municipality of Dragash. After completing my military service on April 28, 1971, I continued to work at the same school until mid-October 1972, when I came to Belgrade to study. On November 1, 1972, I started working as a manual worker in the Belgrade Municipal Cleaning, I left my wife at home with a six-month-old child and an old mother. And now how can I be the father of Aleksandar Vucic, who was born on March 5, 1970?", he said.
