US Secretary of State Antony Blinken in an e-mail sent to his employees admitted that there are disagreements within the Department regarding the approach of the administration of President Joe Biden to Israel's attacks on Gaza, reports Anadolu.
According to CNN, the email Blinken sent to ministry employees said: "I know that for many of you, the pain caused by this crisis has a profound impact."
Blinken said it was heartbreaking to see the images of babies, children, the elderly, women and other civilians suffering in this crisis and that he "felt it," Turkish media Anadolu reported.
He says some employees in the Department may disagree with the approach taken by the government regarding Gaza.
"Employees can have opinions on what can be done better. We believe that Gaza should be joined with the West Bank and administered by the Palestinians. The reconstruction of the region should be supported by a sustainable mechanism," Blinken said .
In the US, 100 diplomats from the State Department and the US Agency for International Development (USAID) accused President Biden of "spreading false information" about Israel's attacks on Gaza.
The statement signed by the diplomats said that "Israel is committing war crimes in Gaza" while advising Biden to question Israel's actions more.
