Ivan Vukovic, vice-president of the Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS) and that party's member of parliament in Montenegro, was arrested in Belgrade.
He was detained by the Serbian Security and Intelligence Agency (BIA) during a visit to Serbia, reports "Vijesti". The reason is suspected to be his sharing on social media of images from today's protest in Belgrade.
Deputy Prime Minister for Foreign and European Affairs Filip Ivanović later announced that Vuković was free and on his way to Montenegro. He said he had been informed about this by his Serbian counterpart Marko Djuric.
It is learned that he was on a private visit to Belgrade and was stopped as he was leaving the Hilton Hotel.
A source from "Vijesti" who was present at Vuković's detention said that he was met in front of the elevator by several people in uniform and two in civilian clothes, who introduced themselves as members of the BIA and detained him.
Vuković told them that he was in Belgrade to accompany a family member who was there for health reasons.
Last night, Vukovic shared a video from the protest in Belgrade on his Facebook page.
