Brutal torture prison where Putin's soldiers mutilated a Ukrainian journalist is revealed. Viktoria Roschyna, 27, was tortured in the Sizo prison before being returned to Ukraine.
Sizo is one of Putin's most notorious torture prisons, referred to by many as a "concentration camp." Before the war broke out, it housed juvenile prisoners and mothers with young children.
But now it serves a far more sinister purpose, as a barbaric torture center for Ukrainian captives, some of whom are civilians. The terrified prisoners are bound and blindfolded in military trucks painted with the Z symbol before being transported to the center.
Upon arrival there, many of them undergo a "welcoming" procedure known as "reception", where guards punch, kick, and beat them relentlessly with sticks.
The chief doctor of a Ukrainian naval brigade that arrived at the prison in 2022, Volodymyr Labuzov, said that "this is a sacred ritual for them.
"Blindly, with your hands tied and your head bowed, you are ordered to walk, and every person standing there considers it necessary to hit you with something," Labuzov said.
Labuzov said this was just the beginning of a series of tortures for the prisoners - during cell searches and interrogations twice a day.
The exact layout of the site is unknown, but former prisoners have identified two buildings as the main torture sites – as they recall terrifying screams coming from them.
The prison includes various torture chambers containing a variety of pain-inducing devices, including an electric chair.
Another room was reportedly used to hang handcuffed detainees upside down with their knees tied to a bar, while they were brutally beaten.
Former prisoners recalled the horrific treatment with the "Putin phone" - where wires are attached to the ears, nose or genitals before electric shocks are delivered via a powerful Soviet-era battery-powered telephone called the TA-57.
