SPAK does not need a show, a spectacle, to 'inflate' public opinion through such schemes. It is enough to show us the evidence, as for Veliaj and many others, that X politician has stolen so much and the other so much and has gained their trust...
The wiretapping of Erion Veliaj's cell seems to be ending a big mess for the Special Prosecution Office.
On the day of the court hearing in the Appeal Court, Ols Dado and Altin Dumani appeared with a 'voluminous' file, claiming that they had new evidence proving how 'dangerous' the mayor was if he were released from prison.
In fact, there were wiretaps that SPAK had made in Erion Veliaj's cell and, as we have seen in recent days, they were conversations with his brother and wife. After the hearing in the Appeals Chamber, several journalists that we see daily on television and in opposition media outlets, began to 'tell' what Veliaj had said. One spoke of threats, another of a bounty on his head of up to 2 million euros, etc.
But after the smoke, these conversations were served to the public and the latest facts show that it was all intentional.
There is no longer any doubt that the battle between Ols Dado and Erion Veliaj has ended in personal matters. Even looking at the audio that came out of the session, it seems that there is a lot of anger between them. However, SPAK seems to have scored an own goal by releasing the file to the public.
For days, materials from Veliaj's "wiretapping" have been published in the media, and in fact we realized that Erion Veliaj has been hit harder than evidence has been discovered against him.
First, we don't have wiretaps. So far we have seen passages, in many cases and very strange, where people speak in the third person. Even SPAK itself uses terms like Erjoni, KM, 'X' or 'Y' even when they are its own submissions.
If SPAK is going to implicate someone, it should have acted like with files 184 or 339, where the names that communicated were released not only in text, but also in voice. That was wiretapping. This SPAK thing cannot be called a file. If the prosecutors hide behind the fact that there was no evidence, they should have locked it in a drawer and they had no reason to use it as a media gimmick.
Second, there is no verification by SPAK of the wiretaps. There are many names and SPAK has not bothered to question any of them. Wiretaps are never evidence, but to get to the latter. So why did SPAK wiretap Veliaj and not go to the evidence? Or was the wiretap done to serve it to the media?
Third , so far there is nothing major that implicates Veliaj, compared to what SPAK was trumpeting to us. The media outlets that have published them are trying to make interpretations of what is discussed there, but in fact they are conversations that any of us would have if we were in that situation.
How can he be held accountable for giving suggestions to his mother-in-law about how to behave, and therefore to prosecutors? He is accused of manipulating the audio of the hearing, when in fact it is stated in black and white that he is asking for the audio to be cleaned because there is too much noise.
He also advises his wife not to appear in the media and in some cases admits that they are being monitored. In short, we have seen all the instructions that Veliaj has given through his Facebook statuses and it has not been a big secret. So where is the "bomb" that SPAK discovered?
From these intercepts we understood only one thing, that every status of Veliaj was coordinated with the SP. He never acted on his own and even the Prime Minister and others were aware of it.
But if SPAK had this goal, to show us how things were coordinated, it seems to have confused its purpose. Its goal is to do justice, not politics.
We are waiting for facts, while SPAK is creating a machine for manipulating the public. The leaked file is being misused in the worst possible way. Words are being taken out of context and very low machinations are being made.
SPAK does not need a show, a spectacle, to 'inflate' public opinion through such schemes. It is enough to show us the evidence, like for Veliaj and many others, that this one has stolen so much and that one has stolen so much and has earned their trust.
The justice reform was made to attack politics, not to be like it. If SPAK has not understood this, then we will end up from justice to anarchy. /Pamphlet
