There are two events that caught our eye a while ago, events that show that we are dealing with a movement from above in the affairs of the Albanian Muslim Community.
In the mosque of Dine Hoxha, on Rrugë e Kavaja, which is an important interest group, the former mufti of Tirana, Lauren Luli, was almost physically attacked.
The event happened a few days before the general elections in KMSH, where the mufti and all other structures were also elected. From the elections, Bilal Teqja emerges as the head of the mufti of Tirana. A cleric who was surprisingly not contested by the pro-Erdoganist opposition of the Muslim community.
A few days later, Prime Minister Edi Rama interviews the new mufti of Tirana in his podcast. An interview visible as a promotion to present the image of a cultured, enlightened and intellectually elevated person.
In this atmosphere, we have a decline in strong voices attacking the KMSH.
The Majlis association, which also has its own media that is quite clicked, continues the attack on those it calls 'Gulenists' and undertakes to demonstrate itself in support of Palestine. Like the Turkish government, the Majlis congregation has never attacked Hamas for the terrible massacre of last October 7.
These demonstrations of the pro-Erdogan community take place several times in the main squares of Tirana, where many believers participate. And this protest takes place without the coordination of KMSH, but creating the impression that they don't want to.
The Mejhlis even circulates as propaganda the photo of the current head of KMSH, Bujar Spahiu, with the Israeli ambassador in Tirana. In a frontal attack, they even accused Spahiu, who had just been elected, and Baba Mondi of the Bektashites as allies of Israel.
This propaganda, which is exactly the same as what Erdogan does in Turkey, has brought a new development.
The new mufti of Tirana also participates in the majlis demonstrations.
Meanwhile, two days ago, Justinian Topulli, who is a well-known character of the Majlis, wrote on his social network: Muftinia e Tirana 1 and KMSH zero.
The reason for this attitude is the statement of the young mufti against the marriage of two women in the municipality of Tirana. So a new front more focused on this situation has been created, where it is clear that the Erdoganists have sympathy for Bilal Teqe.
Is this the compromise that Edi Rama has made with the KMSH, thus giving the opportunity to later inaugurate the great mosque of Tirana? It seems that's exactly what it is! Meanwhile, support continues for the media and commentators who promote the strengthening of propaganda for nostalgia for the Ottoman Empire, or even a reformed neo-Ottomanism.
But will the Americans allow Erdogan to give up completely on KMSH? It seems not, that's why Erdogan and his structures here are trying to shape a public opinion in the congregation, to be anti-American, and soon to start political protests against the USA and the West, not only those in support of the Palestinians. / Pamphlet
