The overall price level increased by 2.2% in October according to Eurostat's methodology, almost 0.1% more than national measurements.
According to INSTAT, the largest price increase of 8.9% is observed in the “Entertainment and culture” group, followed by the groups “Alcoholic beverages and tobacco” with 3.1%, “Furniture, household equipment and maintenance” with 2.8%, “Educational services” with 2.7%, “Hotels, cafes and restaurants” with 2.6%, “Miscellaneous goods and services” with 2.4%, “Clothing and footwear” and “Rent, water, fuel and energy” with 1.4% each, “Food and non-alcoholic beverages” with 1.3%, “Health” and “Communication” with 1.1% each. On the other hand, prices in the “Transport” group decreased by 0.5%.
In October 2025, the monthly change measured by the Harmonized Index of Consumer Prices is +0.01%.

This change was mainly influenced by the increase in prices of the group “Clothing and footwear” by 1.1%, followed by the groups “Miscellaneous goods and services” by 0.5%, “Furniture, household equipment and maintenance” by 0.2%, “Hotels, cafes and restaurants” by 0.1%. On the other hand, prices of the group “Entertainment and culture” decreased by 0.7%, followed by the groups “Rent, water, fuel and energy” by 0.3%, “Transport” by 0.2%.

Romania faced the highest price increase at 8.3% in July, followed by Estonia and Slovakia, while Switzerland and Cyprus had the lowest growth at less than 0.2%.
Unlike the CPI, the Harmonized Index of Consumer Prices (HICP) measures the change in the level of retail prices of goods and services from the point of view of the structure of expenditures that consumers (domestic and foreign) intend for final consumption in the territory of Albania.
The HICP is used to monitor the movement of retail prices in European countries, comparing the inflation rate between European countries and as the official inflation of the European Central Bank, ensuring price stability in the Economic and Monetary Union. / Taken from Monitor.al
