Dirty money, the worst tumor for the Albanian economy
Ervin Mete and Edi Rama

The economic expert, Pano Soko, called dirty money a tumor in the Albanian economy.

Soko said that when the informal sources are cut off, Albania will experience the effects of a drug addict, when the drug comes off. According to him, the interruption of informal resources will lead to a high increase in inflation in the country.

" With all the 10 million tourists, with all the increased foreign investments, economic growth was still 3.6. If we had a big boom from the financial point of view of tourists, then the economic growth would not be 3.6 percent. The level of imports during the tourism period did not change much. I don't believe that it was the 10 million tourists that created the money boom. The exchange rate went down since May, before tourism started. They are not phenomena that come gradually, but are isolated and related to special cases. We can doubt that until it is not a white thing, it is black. This change in the exchange rate is largely attributed to the money from which it is not known where it comes from.

The internationals have allowed them. If they had the will to stop them, they would have done it from the countries of origin. This money is not produced in Albania. They are produced somewhere abroad and come to Albania. The tumorous part of the body has already become so important that we cannot remove it, because if we remove it, the patient dies. It is assumed that the opening of the negotiations will bring a stricter monitoring in the incoming flows of money, I believe that this would cause a financial collapse, where we would all be affected. The construction industry is the property of dirty money. If funding is cut off, this entire industry collapses. All macro-economic stability depends on this exchange rate. Imagine if one euro goes for 120 ALL. Albania will not always be the place where money will be laundered. It will come at a time when they will be stopped, either for the interest of those countries from where this money originates. Today we are under the influence of drugs. The exchange rate did not feel the 400 million euros bought by the Bank of Albania at all! This dirty money is tumorous, it is not healthy. There will come a moment when it will be interrupted. It is what happens to drug addicts when they get off drugs, the same thing will happen to our country, because we are far from the natural balance, where one euro is exchanged for 140 lek. We will return with great pain to the white economy. But nature wins in the end ", said Soko on "MCN TV".
