The fact is that we in Albania have had our own Navalny, since in any case any alternative political possibility was killed in the embryo. And of course this happened in the dictatorship of Enver Hoxha, but it did not escape in the time of post-communism.
The story of the elimination of the man who could shake the power of Vladimir Putin has taken the headlines of the main media in the world today.
Some say that since Navalny's death the West has won, but their arguments are based simply on the logic of accusing the Kremlin regime. But it seems clear that the only one who gains from this disaster is simply Vladimir Putin. who had Navalny a serious and courageous opponent to oppose.
And Putin sent a message to his opponents that there is no mother man who opposes him.
Yes, the story of Aleks Navalny is not unknown in Albania. At least in reality, all those who have tried to challenge Sali Berisha, or have been really challenging, have had the fate of Navalny.
Others, from crazy opponents have turned into cheerful supporters of the doctor. We are dealing with a really interesting situation, interesting enough that it is worth studying.
But Berisha's supporters will say, well, who are Edi Rama's opponents?
The opponents of Edi Rama have not come out yet, but his predecessor Fatos Nano had plenty of opponents. Who to this day enjoy great health and economic prosperity, such as Pandeli Majko and Ilir Meta.
But on the other hand, one of Sali Berisha's opponents, Azem Hajdari, is no longer alive. He was killed on September 12, 1998. Gramos Pashko was another strong figure who could oppose Sali Berisha. Pashko's speech at the DP meeting, when he was expelled from the DP, is even epic. After a period of militancy with the PAD in the opposition, and in the government with the SP as an adviser to Fatos Nanos, Professor Pashko joined the PD in 2005, when this political force came to power.
Not a year passed, he lost his life in a tragic accident together with his son. The same thing happened to Pjetër Arbnor, Ali Spahina, Safet Zhulalin and the head of SHIK, Bashkim Gazideden.
Of course, the last deceased were not opponents of Berisha, therefore they were his relatives. But the loss of their lives has been commented on by many circles as an unnatural logic.
The fact is that we in Albania have had our own Navalny, since in any case any alternative political possibility was killed in the embryo. And of course this happened in the dictatorship of Enver Hoxha, but it did not escape in the time of post-communism.
Eduard Selami, the leader of the DP, in 1995, sought to become prime minister. They threatened him and he fled to the USA protected by the American government. It came back twice but it didn't help. Today he lives abroad again. lynched and attacked and not accepted by the militants, Mr. Selami is today a political alien.
But this does not happen only in DP. Even in the SP today, an opponent or rival of Edi Rama appears, not that the situation is bad.
However, these are party problems, the point is, why does not a challenging figure emerge against the traditional leaders? Because as Fatos Nano has said: in Albania, resignation is equivalent to removal time. Your head is gone. Where is Dritan Prifti today by the way?!
