The "anonymous" whistleblower of Veliaj and the hired opponents

These are details that show the insistence to lynch him, behind which there is a political will that has also found support in the SPAK prosecutor.

Erion Veliaj publicly admitted today that his last "declarant" is an anonymous person, for whom the prosecutor of the case, Olsi Dado, did not even bother to ask who he is. After months of being publicly lynched in connection with the incinerators or some of his former directors accused of corruption, who are on trial, as of today he is finally being questioned about his wife's activities in a cultural foundation and his brother, who has a branch of an international advertising company in Albania, to find any conflict of interest. So far so good, but question marks remain.

In the first two cases, that of the incinerators and its directors accused of corruption, he is not a defendant. The cases have gone to court. The insistence on digging 20 years into his public life, from 2004 when he was the head of MJAFT until today, is a clearly politically motivated effort.

The word comes, it was asked who she traveled with on the same plane in 2004, 2011 or 2014, what credit card she had or why Ayola's mother bought suits that did not fit her body, or why her late father Ajoles bought a car that he sold again after some time more expensive than he bought it.

These are details that show the insistence to lynch him, behind which there is a political will that has also found support in the SPAK prosecutor.

If the issue of the incinerators or the directors accused of corruption are issues directly related to his position as mayor, and everyone should respect the facts that are made public, including the speculations about them, the efforts to open a the third case with anonymous persons shows a concern for lynching, since the first two cases have failed. This is an issue that, more than Veliaj, damages the good work done by SPAK in the investigation of two other cases, which, although they do not directly affect Veliaj, naturally do not respect the Municipality of Tirana.

For this reason, the issue of the anonymous whistleblower is important. If the first two denunciations have public political protagonists from the opposition and failed to indict him, opening a third case to investigate his wife, brother, dead father-in-law and living mother-in-law needs more credibility than belongs to the whistleblower.

I say this because this "anonymous" person had access to dig into aviation records and found that there was another person on a plane with Veliaj in 2004, who is his friend, while the TIMS system did not exist and it is not an access that anyone can have. And it is not that SPAK discovered it, but this "anonymity" that denounced.

At this point, we are faced with two hypotheses: either SPAK uses informal methods of finding facts and billing them to an anonymous person, which I do not believe, as this would be a monstrous method of the time of communism, or there is a will politician against him, from PD or SP, to do his family biography in SPAK in the hope that they will find something.

The public lynchers of Erion Veliaj are not anonymous and they are not lynchers of the SP as a whole. They are hired opponents against Erion Veliaj. Some are rewarded with licenses and businesses for their family members, or them directly, some with envelopes under hand. They are not 24-hour oppositionists, but they are paid mercenaries who wear DP uniforms. Most of them can be found at lunches, dinners or joys and sorrows of the family members of Edi Rama's ministers. And this makes this battle dirtier, and more synchronized with Berisha's blackmail on this prosecutor a few weeks ago, and his "reflection" to become credible.

It would not be a surprise for Veliaj to be penalized for the incinerator if any legal or procedural violations were found, nor for the former directors accused of corruption. Naturally, these questions would not be raised. But, just like in the trial of Nexhmije Hoxha, convicted for coffee, when you fail to raise accusations about his political responsibilities and then try to dig into his life through "very informed anonymous", then there is a problem with the integrity of the prosecutor, or by using it for witch hunting.

20 years ago, when Veliaj was not an elected person, or when the prosecutor of the case was not a prosecutor, whatever they did publicly or illegally, whether they traveled by plane with businessmen or had a business, are not facts illegal in the Port of Durrës since they had a fellow minister. That's how all the anonymous whistleblowers come out, for whom SPAK should open an investigation.

Erion Veliaj deserves to be investigated and judged for his duties as elected mayor, but not for his personal choices in life, as one might have those personal empathy issues. Thus, they only strengthen him more by targeting him as someone who must be punished and by making the process against him unbelievable.
