By day he imitates Trump, by night he dreams of Rama

The truth is that Trump and his ilk are not creating some concessions for Berisha.

That scene where Donald Trump signs executive orders one by one, each with a separate pen, then shows them to the cameras and continues with the next one, has amazed Sali Berisha. A full 100 orders in approximately 1 hour of work, just like he was signing autographs.

It seems that he has lost sleep over that scene and has started to put himself in Trump's shoes after May 11. There is a small problem, that our prime minister can only sign VKM, not executive orders, but anyway, he likes the scene. To be on the same wavelength with Trump, he has also promised about 100 new VKM since the first weeks.

In fact, today he did not wait for May 11, but took Gazment Bardhi by the side, as if to show that they are a party of sacrifice, and sent the "first executive order" to Parliament, ordering them to repeal the law he himself made in 2009 after the meeting with Soros on same-sex marriages and replace it with a new law that allows marriages only between the sexes, now after Trump's victory.

All this madness of his to convince the Democrats that they have started governing at the same time as Trump is a way of self-suggesting with the idea that now we have taken power, it is simply a matter of date. Or, as Paloka says, the "non grata" has been dropped, but the announcement has not been made.

The truth is that Trump and his ilk are not creating some concessions for Berisha.

So it seems that SPAK is under financial pressure from allies who were its main supporters. I believe that they will review this issue within three months in favor of SPAK, but anything can happen. But it is not that there is no hope for Berisha.

Also, now the whole world talks less and less about democracy and more and more about power, strength, technology and efficiency. This may relieve Berisha of his dark past as an underminer of democracy in this country, sanctioned by the US, or as a global enemy of the press, sanctioned by the Committee to Protect Journalists.

He can be forgiven for this stain on his biography. In fact, if he had started governing in this era, it would have been ideal, because no one would take his actions for granted.

The thing is that winning the election is a problem that Trump cannot solve for Berisha. To enjoy these new era's conveniences, Berisha must first take power. And this is where the whole thing gets complicated. So he is trying to act as if he has taken power and as if he has started governing by signing "executive orders" like today's.

The equation has become even more difficult for him because any ease created for him by Trump's new spirit against SPAK or justice reform, and even against sanctions against him, as he dreams of, goes more in favor of the majority than in his favor.

Paradoxically, to destroy his opponent, Berisha now needs a US much more focused on democracy, anti-corruption and ethics in governance, rather than on destroying SPAK, justice reform and ignoring democratic defects, as these make the opponent stronger than he is.

So now the only thing left for him is to go out every day to imitate Trump by issuing executive orders that will be implemented after May 11th and every night to dream of being like Edi Rama, prime minister, to implement them.
