The Court of Appeals did not change the measure of Ilir Meta's arrest, but the latter changed the positions he had before regarding his responsibilities in all the stories investigated. In his legal defense before the court, he blamed all his problems with the law on his ex-wife, Monika Kryemadhi, and his mother-in-law.
Personally, I am against the preliminary imprisonment of politicians who do not exercise concrete duties in power, which are related to their criminal offense, and in this context it would not be a sin to change the measure of arrest for Ilir Meta. But the court decision is not discussed. What we can discuss now is Ilir Meta's attitude towards the accusations made against him.
Ilir Meta's entire political struggle was that "DumDumani" Edi Rama, USA, McGonigal, etc., were putting him in prison. So he has raised the whole political fable on the idea that there is a conspiracy against him to imprison him as an opposition leader. Today's statement is a pure legal admission of guilt, charging his ex-wife and ex-mother-in-law with criminal responsibility for violations of the law.
This, of course, is not in his hands, but in the hands of the court. It is what determines the responsibilities for breaking the law throughout this process.

Monika Kryemadhi has shown herself to be more dignified than him in this whole process. Although she is known for her extreme language towards opponents, she has shown more "manhood" than Ilir Meta and more public integrity, admitting that she is responsible for many financial transactions in the family.
Even in all this drama of their family, she kept the children together and withdrew from politics, in the face of a man who, while he was out, took mountains and hills in turn, turning into a tragicomic figure that combines paranoia, delirium and fear with each other.
In this aspect, today's statements of Ilir Meta before the court, where he excuses himself by blaming his wife and mother-in-law, are doubly harmful for him.
The first, politically, after the case that put him in prison in Dumani, Rama, USA, etc., admitting that he is in prison because he broke the law.
Second, his manhood has fallen, since instead of accepting his responsibilities as a husband and as the former highest official of this country, he tries to justify himself and seeks freedom by blaming his ex-wife.
Today, in front of the court, Ilir Meta has lost not only his freedom, remaining under arrest, but also his "manhood", as his strategy to blame his ex-wife and mother-in-law in an attempt to avoid personal responsibility has made the situation of his even more unfavorable, both politically and morally. He has lost both his "manhood" and his freedom.
