Salianj's "Wrong Time"

Salianj's "Wrong Time"

The truth is that the Albanian public has shown at least 10 times more interest in Salijanj's meetings compared to Berisha's, which means that they see it as a welcome move and not premature.

I have often heard in recent weeks that some well-known names in Berisha's DP, embarrassed by the differentiation process that Berisha is carrying out within the DP, under the motto "either with me or with Salianji", come out and say that Salianji's move "is not at the right time."

I even heard Genc Pollo say this and it seemed like the end of the world.

Now I understand that it's kind of embarrassing when you're inside Berisha's DP and they ask you to attack Salinj with accusations like "Suel Çela organizes the rallies," then Roland Bejko, then Benet Beci, and so on. But when they don't ask you to, you don't have to talk nonsense.

This idea that "the Salijan movement is not timely" does not save you from the situation. What does the Salijan movement have against time?

The DP is in its fourth term in opposition, with a corrupt 82-year-old, non grata, and with a criminal circle still standing, fueled by the corruption of the socialists. It is very normal for the opposition to seek to come to power, but with this set of people at its head, it has no chance, neither nationally nor internationally. Then a change in the leadership of the DP would be, under these conditions, the only hope for coming to power. Postponing this change means postponing the overthrow of the socialist government and giving it the opportunity to regenerate.

The Salijanji movement is a belated movement for the DP, or rather: it follows many failed movements for change in the DP. All of them, when they started, were told the same thing: “Not now, because we have the enemy in front of us.” The opposition will always have an enemy in front of it, but if it cannot change itself, it cannot change Albania.

Being a delayed movement, the Salijanj movement must be helped to accelerate, not postponed, as every postponement makes the difference between the government and the opposition even greater.

The rush of all of Berisha's lackeys to anathema him and then the emergence of these moderates who say that "it's not the right time" is the most deadly path for the opposition in these golden times for it. That is: in a climate filled with accusations but also facts about corruption in power, Albanians should look to those who can change the country and not to those who can set it back years.

To stop the opposition's change today means to do honor to the same government, an honor that neither Suel Çela, nor Benet Beci, nor anyone else Berisha invents as "organizers" of the rallies against him can do.

The truth is that the Albanian public has shown at least 10 times more interest in Salijanj's meetings compared to Berisha's, which means that they see it as a welcome move and not premature.

And the reason is that its halls are not attended by DP officials who have brought the Democrats to their knees, but by unrepresented democrats, those who have lost hope due to the calcification of the DP structures. This shows that there is an opposition and another DP, more interested in change than Berisha's serviles.

Since Berisha returned with the slogan "more united, stronger", where could he find this movement of Salijanj that brings to the opposition people who do not approach him "because the wind of the Flag and Albana is coming". The opposite is true: the battle against Salijanj makes the opposition more divided and weaker and this is the real service that Berisha is doing to the government.

This idea that every time someone rises up against Berisha, one should say "he is in a hurry" is the main reason why the Democratic Party has an 82-year-old leader with no hope for power.

There is nothing more eternal than the struggle for survival by saying "we are temporary," so they should not be abandoned.

Berisha has been "temporarily" at the head of the DP since 1991, and anyone who criticizes him or calls for his removal is declared "premature."

The only "wrong time" to demand Berisha's departure is when he dies along with the DP. Then you will all be blamed, but he will no longer listen to you and the DP will no longer be needed by anyone.
