In parties and politics, people learn to divide, as over time the tension between what is felt and what can be spoken becomes the true field of gravity of the party. Many revolve around lies, claiming that they are the sun.
The closer to the center of the table and the chairman, the less the leaders notice that the party meeting rooms are filled with people whose main distinguishing feature is the inability (by no means the inability) to weigh ideas. With men and women whose thinking revolves only around securing a place in the “chairman’s club of confidants”. People overwhelmed by emotions, where the dominant emotion is fear. People “abandoned” once and for all by the instinct of rebellion, which is the foundation of man’s conscience, the source of his humanity and the means of his evolution. They accept without hesitation that within the party human relations become transactional, where loyalty is currency, and disagreement the greatest danger.
Only when they sit at the back of the hall and are dismissed from leadership positions like “Zhukov in the air,” do the top party leaders become aware of the “loss of spirit,” the abandonment of meritocracy, or the existence of fear. But the attempt to revive the debate through honest conversation within the organization is experienced as aggression, because now the truth inside is equated with the threat.
Few are guilty, but all are responsible. All are responsible for the fact that meetings intended to discuss problems were transformed into silence, as a show of harmony; that criticisms of the way in which books or Harvard students were catapulted to the top of the party leadership without ever having been in the party for a day were read as envy and awards for success. They are responsible for speeches with circular phrases that sounded thoughtful, but that said nothing at all; for words that were chosen not to communicate, but to control interpretation.
Well, everyone is responsible for the fact that the party no longer has any balance mechanism, where the political contribution that gave members of the government or party leadership forums a kind of authority or autonomy in thought from the Chairman no longer exists. Political contribution has been replaced by the willingness to take responsibility without having political authority, as the most widespread form of modern slavery.
When you sit at the end of the hall, your feet touch the ground, the eyes of your conscience and mind open, and you clearly see that you are no longer part of a voluntary political organization, but of a crowd without essential views, which is the backbone of autocracy.
There you understand: the party is dead, even because of you...
