At least 45 arrest warrants made public today for officials and others pending, cover the entire geography of crime in Albania. The list includes almost everyone whose name has come up once in connection with crime in Albania, from the strong untouchables to the strong with political connections or local criminal clans.
This is probably the biggest anti-crime operation in Albania in these thirty years, if you count the weight of the names of the criminals that have been declared wanted, where the State Police has its credit.
All the arrest warrants were issued by SPAK, and it seems that they are behind the clarification of some criminal stories in the country.
At the same time, ministers, mayors and senior government officials visit SPAK's doors every day, in the framework of corruption investigations, creating a climate of war against both crime and corruption.
This has made SPAK a popular and reliable institution in Albania.
But on the other hand, there is also a call for war against SPAK and the "criminal" Altin Dumani. And of course the crowd was with Sali Berisha. This is the only island in Albanian politics and society that is in open battle with SPAK, because of Sali Berisha.
I made this whole overview, to understand how unimportant the state and the law are for Sali Berisha, and why he is the biggest anti-statist in our history.
Imagine him in power and dare SPAK or justice to touch him, what he does. Now he is at the top of the window and tries to become a spokesperson for all the victims of SPAK, who are mostly crime lords in Albania and high officials corrupted by the majority in power.
Just because SPAK has placed him under investigation and risks prison, he is ready to kick justice, identifying himself with justice and the state.
For him, it doesn't matter that SPAK takes all the criminals of Albania to jail, that it takes more than half of the government and mayors for investigation, that it fights for our society to win the battle with illegality. He has the motto "the state is me", "justice is me" and anyone who touches him, declares him an enemy.
This alone would be enough to understand why Sali Berisha should be punished. Not only as a thief, not only as a murderer, not only as a hostage-taker of the opposition, but above all as the greatest anti-state activist in the history of this country.
