The United States' reaction to the May 11 elections, congratulating the new Parliament and committing to continuing the close partnership with Albania, could have been delayed by several days if Berisha and the DP agitators had not started to make the foolish mistake of amplifying the lack of reaction as support for Sali Berisha.
President Trump's new administration, of course, has a new political approach to the world and in some countries has caused so much trauma from classic relations with the US that everyone is talking about a new world order.
Fortunately for Albania, the US confirmed the continuation of its partnership with Albania, congratulating the election of the new Parliament and thus confirming the new political identity of the US under Trump's leadership, as well as recognition and support for the new government in Albania.
And this is more important than political preferences for specific parties in Albania, which fortunately do not exist.
In many other countries, the new US has brutally interfered in elections. It is enough to remember Germany and Romania, where the US vice president was directly involved in supporting far-right parties against the establishment. Likewise, transatlantic relations have suffered serious setbacks and Albanians are a nation with frozen blood from this new world that American politics is bringing.

Currently, the alliance that liberated Kosovo in 1999 is dead, and no one would dare to do such a thing today.
The fact that the US confirmed the continuation of the partnership with the Albanian people is an important positive signal for Albania and Albanians in the region, as by not really being a strong economic or military factor in the region, we could fall off the list of priorities.
The US currently prioritizes economic development and the fight against organized crime and terrorism. Debate over fragile democracy or the dominance of human rights over a country's stability and sovereignty is increasingly in focus.
And in this respect, Albania and Kosovo risk being irrelevant countries for the new America.
But fortunately for us, we are still on their list of allies as a state and as a nation. America confirmed that they are not interested in local quarrels in Albania, nor in their lobbyists who receive payments there. They confirmed that we are on their list and this is great news. Thanks to Berisha, they remembered to make this statement in time and we should give this credit to his latest stupidity. Not the previous one with 6 million dollars.
