Now, the narrative of Prime Minister Rama as the "guarantor of new justice" has fallen...
There are moments in the political life of a country when power is revealed naked, stripped of propaganda, moral facades, and the myths it has built itself. Albania is in one of these moments, not because justice has suddenly gained moral strength, but because the Prime Minister's model of governance has entered its phase of consumption and self-destruction.
For years, Prime Minister Rama's government has been fed the idea that everything is controlled, that every crisis is managed, that every scandal is relativized, and that every responsibility is distributed in such a way that it never reaches the top. But when justice starts knocking on the inner doors of the executive, this illusion begins to collapse.
We are no longer dealing with an individual issue, nor with a "legal misunderstanding," as government propaganda diabolically tries to portray.
We are dealing with an open test of strength between political power and justice, and this clash is not accidental, but a direct product of a governance model that has replaced institutions with personal loyalty and the law with individual will.
The Prime Minister has built his power on a dangerous principle: the extreme concentration of decision-making and the promotion of figures without political weight, without public careers and without moral autonomy. Such an administration does not produce a state, but clientele. It does not produce responsibility, but fear. And fear, in politics, is fertile ground for the most brutal corruption.
Today, any attempt to protect, relativize, or delay legal processes will no longer be read as institutional caution, but as political panic, because it has become clear that the problem is not a single name, but the fear that behind it a large chain of responsibilities may unfold that goes much higher than citizens are accustomed to accepting.
Now, the narrative of Prime Minister Rama as the “guarantor of new justice” has fallen. It has worked as long as justice struck somewhere far from the center of power, but as soon as danger approaches, the mask begins to slip. This is precisely why every delay, every deliberate silence, and every procedural maneuver is perceived as an attempt to save not an individual, but an entire rotten system.
International partners, often spoken of as political shields, are neither blind nor naive. They have invested in justice for real results, not for political scenography. Their enthusiasm for high-level corruption investigations is increasingly accompanied by disappointment that corruption is not the exception, but the norm in this government.
And here arises the question that the government tries to avoid at all costs: are we dealing with a Prime Minister who no longer controls the processes he himself initiated, or with a Prime Minister who fears that justice may reveal much more than he is ready to admit publicly?!
For the first time in many years, the Prime Minister's political fate no longer depends on elections, nor on propaganda, nor on control over the administration, but on files filled with frightening financial scandals, on evidence and on decisions that are no longer made in his offices. This is the most serious blow to a power that has become accustomed to knowing no boundaries.
Albania cannot move towards Europe with a government that preaches justice, but trembles when it approaches. A government that sees the law as a threat and not as a foundation cannot talk about European integration; a Prime Minister who has built a system that produces crises and every crisis turns into an existential threat to his own government cannot claim moral legitimacy.
Ultimately, this is no longer a matter of individuals, but of a model, a model built on arrogance, absolute control, and a lack of accountability, that has already passed the point of no return. Any attempt to keep it afloat only prolongs the agony and increases the cost to the country.
Justice may be delayed, but it has a quality that power does not have: PATIENCE. When justice acts, it no longer asks for mandates, nor for images or narratives, but only for responsibility. And the main responsibility is the corrupt governance model of Prime Minister Edi Rama, who today is facing a final test with no chance of escape.
Nuk kemi partnerë ndërkombëtarë!
