Spare us your Easter and Eid greetings.

Shkruar nga Dom Mark Pashkja

Spare us your Easter and Eid greetings.

On religious holidays, I have seen you try very carefully to find photos of churches or mosques; you are just as careful in choosing the words to congratulate Eid or Easter. But this law that you approved is the complete opposite of what is preached in these institutions and conveyed through these holidays...

The much-discussed law on gender equality was passed. So quickly, in the late hours of the night, without discussion and with lightning speed. Seventy-seven men and women voted for a law according to which gender is no longer defined by the set of natural traits that distinguish men from women, but by roles constructed in the social context. Those of us who reject it are told that we have not read it or do not understand it.

It's very strange how, after each draft that was changed two or three times, so as not to change anything in essence, individuals and activists from the LGBTQ+ community tried to convince us that it's not what it seems. Nevertheless, the law passed.

All the MPs who approved it should not forget that, before being politicians, they are or will be parents. In the simplest case, they themselves come from male and female parents, from a mother and a father.

The scope that this law leaves for subsequent deformations, in this context, is more than clear. Do not forget that freedom of conscience is the most sacred thing for man and it gives him dignity.

But this law that you approved is the complete opposite of what is preached in these institutions and conveyed through these holidays.

If you manage to find the right words to justify yourself, remember: God knows the truth. We cannot lie to Him. He knows that there is only one truth.

I do not want and do not intend to judge anyone's religion, belief or disbelief, but please, at least for Eid and Easter, spare us the congratulations. Silence is worth more than hypocrisy.
