It is likely that the socialist camp is working on early elections in Tirana that will most likely take place before those of 2027.
It will be difficult for Prime Minister Rama, after this great power that came after the 2025 elections, to maintain a status quo lacking with the head of the Municipality. Which means that he cannot keep it like this until 2027 and moreover the inertia of the victory is such that it gives him the opportunity to confuse the opposition with a new challenge. Right now they are morally and psychologically crushed. Logically, the Tirana elections are very close. But while preparations have probably begun for Tirana from the socialist camp, the democratic camp is justifying the loss and venting its anger at every criticism and observation. While for a party that is not used to losing, this could be called a catastrophe, for the DP this is returning to normality. For a long time, it has been appealed to be careful and visionary and to think very carefully before the electoral machinery of the SP.
They have been warned, advised, reprimanded and even anathemaed by some who find only bad things, but unfortunately they have not reacted. They have been asked to co-opt new people, but this has also fallen on deaf ears. They spoke about the technical government and that they would not take away their elections, despite the warning, but the conviction of the DP people (read those who are safe on the lists) was that no one would dare to touch them. The difference (in addition to the irregularities that await their correct reaction) has shown that they are 100% guilty of their defeat. Paradoxically, in recent days they have also started complaining about manipulations against each other. Those who want to change make a plan and accurately describe their positive and negative sides. This logic is unknown to the DP. Their entire narrative is one-sided: Us against them!
It is likely that the socialist camp is working on early elections in Tirana that will most likely take place before those of 2027. So they are working on statistical projections along with expectations. Added to this are the excuses and Mea culpa, through which they will want to gain the missing empathy for Tirana. Although Tirana's result in the general elections is at a level where they can feel calm numerically but not morally. And the Tirana elections are the antechamber to success in the next elections, for which it is not surprising that the socialists have started working. Meanwhile, the knock-down situation in the Democratic Party is being experienced with great severity, anger and with the usual excuses. For the latter, they should consider themselves guilty and for how they protected the votes. At least that's what they were proud of until May 11 and were completely convinced of victory. But time is counting down and it is no wonder that Rama trapped them with the spirit created to follow him in the local by-elections, which would no longer be a knock-down of the DP in case of loss, but a complete knock-out.
A little more self-respect and conviction are needed for the comeback. Old Gandhi said it in his own way: “To defend democracy, people must have a keen sense of their independence, self-respect and unity.” There can be no better lesson for the DP than to increase the respect for the independence of the individual in the DP, for themselves and for unity, which has completely flown away.
