The problem is deeper and this is related to the major issues that are accompanying the corruption of the Rama government and various government agencies, as well as the administration group that has seized and squandered public wealth.
There are many reasons why the Albanian Left is failing day by day, but there are some that ring frighteningly in everyone's ears. And, this, not only in Albania but also in Kosovo, where coincidentally there is a Left government (At least so far. Kosovo holds elections on December 28), but very far from a normal relationship with each other!! To begin with, the data from a short time ago was critical, when according to INSTAT data measuring income and living standards in 2023, Albania recorded 42.1% of the population suffering from a severe form of poverty. If we were to refer to the 2023 Census data according to which the country's population was 2.4 million inhabitants, then this would imply that over 1 million Albanians were experiencing one of the forms of poverty.
But the problem is deeper and this is related to the major problems that are accompanying the corruption of the Rama government and various government agencies, as well as the administration group that has seized and squandered public wealth. Not to mention the heavy vocabulary and the way people are described in their exchanges on mobile messaging platforms. Thinking about it, the paradox comes to mind, since this should be the Left that should think about the people and serve them. And, Rama and his people, in the wiretaps (if they are true) come out and swim in an unimaginable luxury, completely different from his\their public pathos for social assistance and policies.
The situation in Kosovo is also difficult, but not only for foreign policies, but more for domestic policies. When you consider that Kosovar businesses are moving away from Kosovo, mostly to Albania (this can also be called a kind of fate for our unification); the problems with energy that are increasing the burden on citizens and businesses; what is desolating Albania and Kosovo: the departure of people; the problems with education (Kosovo has much inferior levels in the PISA assessment) that do not stop and above all the impoverishment. And yet in Kosovo the rise of the Cult of the Individual continues.
Recently, Minister Faton Peci went too far in this regard, when during a rally in Mitrovica he suggested that the bridge in this city bear the name of the acting Prime Minister Albin Kurti! The chain of personalities in Mitrovica is endless. Or when a singer proposed and prepared a song for President Kurti, which was fortunately rejected by its own members. Not that they don't happen in Albania, but at least here, Rama is pleasing himself with the vanity that has become part of many segments of his administration.
For specialists but also people who can appeal to the public interest is to have greater opportunity and opinion for groups of pensioners, or for those lonely strata because with the territorial, demographic, social changes that have occurred in society, we have entire communities that are vulnerable between different social categories, expert Xhepa would suggest, among others. Specialists suggest instruments of intervention, but that do not ring in the ears of the leaders of the Albanian Left on both sides of the border. For them, the challenge is to maintain power at all costs. But why is the Albanian Left harming itself?! This question is given only one answer: From the panginja!
