The recount, the boomerang of a summer cause

Berisha's philosophy is chaos, which as a theory is not always and especially not always so efficient. It was in the early 90s, but then it returned to the doctor like a boomerang, and its political quality...

Sali Berisha's instigation of a recount in almost all the largest districts in the country was not only aimed at gaining time to avoid revealing the secrets of the defeat.

In all likelihood, the idea was to find in the reopened papers and pages some clue that would later be returned to the blade of grass to somehow be caught and support the theory of the massacre.

But as always, Berisha's philosophy is chaos, which as a theory is not always and especially not always so efficient. It was in the early 90s, but then it returned to the doctor like a boomerang, a political quality.

In 2009, Edi Rama's Socialist Party requested the reopening of ballot boxes only in a few polling stations, mainly in Berat and Fier. In fact, no recount was requested, but rather the supervision of ballot boxes with election materials. The SP had signals that there was evidence of manipulation in those boxes, which, according to it, resulted in the removal of 2 deputies at the national level. If they switched to the SP, then the DP would not have the constitutional right to form a government.

It is very likely that the SP's indications did not match reality, but Berisha's opposition to opening the ballot boxes, and then the extreme act of burning election materials in Erzen, gave Edi Rama a weapon to get through the difficult moment of any opposition leader when he does not win the elections.

Meanwhile, now not only was every box that the opposition wanted opened, but the process went through a total combing, which gave a fresh view of the May 11th elections. Where the result almost matched what the GNVs decided, except for a small problem, which is a "technological leak" that did not affect the result. It was this count that melted like ice in the sun the fable of the "Bulgarian train" or other vote movements that affected the result.

In all likelihood, in September, Sali Berisha will no longer have the opportunity to use the massacre theory as a thesis, and every day he is becoming more vulnerable to lobbies that are seeking to have a part in the reformed opposition. Starting from the Greek circles, which have created a close partnership with the Albanian opposition since 2023.

It is this current that Berisha fears the most, especially as the process approaches him, due to the effects of age and fatigue. And it is no wonder that since the beginning of autumn we have seen the emergence of new names from these corridors for the group of opposition politicians. Mainly in the south, but also beyond, in order to run in the 2027 local elections.
