Is Trump playing a bluff with the war in Iran, so that he can finally make a

Trump's bluffs are aimed at creating a strong image as an iron-fisted leader. He uses threats as a tool to get deals done.

In fact, the US did not enter any new wars during Donald Trump’s first term (2017–2021). Bluffing is a classic Trump tactic, not only in foreign policy but also in business. Trump may be playing a “strategic bluff” on Iran, threatening war or extreme pressure – but, in reality, his ultimate goal is to reach a new and favorable agreement for the US.

During his first term, Trump:

• Withdrawn the US from the Iran nuclear deal (JCPOA) in 2018.

• It imposed very severe sanctions on Iran.

• Ordered the assassination of Iranian General Qassem Soleimani in January 2020.

This shows that it wasn't just rhetoric – he acted strongly against Iran, aggressively.

How Trump's "bluff" works:

It starts with maximum threat or very harsh rhetoric. It sends troops or planes to the region. It imposes harsh sanctions to create fear and bring it to its knees.

Tensions rise to the brink of war.

• The most famous example: the assassination of General Qassem Soleimani.

At that moment, the world thought that a US-Iran war was inevitable, but the intervention did not happen.
It offers "deals" as a peace solution.

• Instead of starting a war, he often offers the enemy a deal, but on his own terms.

• Example: He said he would negotiate with Iran for a “better deal than Obama’s.”

• In reality, no agreement was reached, but the tactic was classic: “pressure to negotiate”.

Trump's bluffs are aimed at creating a strong image as an iron-fisted leader. He uses threats as a means to reach an agreement. Mostly, he avoids any war, because he has business intuition and does not harm the economy. He uses military tensions for electoral effect.

Could the Iran bluff happen again?

Maybe… Trump is likely to play a calculated bluff on Iran. He will threaten war until the last minute and create great pressure, but in the end he may negotiate a deal, in order to present himself as “the man who defended the US without shedding blood”. This fits his leadership style and his strategy as a “bluffer”. Unfortunately, a bluff understood by opponents risks making him look weaker this time in the eyes of the entire planet, when bombs are leveling Tehran and Tel Aviv. However, let’s wait and see whether or not Trump will have the courage to sign the order to enter the US into war with another country for the first time in his life. Often, peace is more difficult than war…
