Of course, there may be some anomalies during the counting, but essentially the result is the same. The Socialist Party, with all the instruments at its disposal, would not allow a recount of the votes if there was evidence of "electoral crime".

Every subject or even candidate has the right to request a recount of votes because this is stipulated by law, but this whole story seems more like keeping alive the fable of the electoral massacre set up by the Democratic Party than to provide evidence or facts of election manipulation. Even after several boxes that have been counted so far have resulted the same as the first count with some non-essential changes to the result.

For a very simple reason. Albania is not in the two thousand years where hands were put in the boxes or minutes during the counting process. Now the counting of votes is 'live' and with cameras, so it is unlikely that a commissioner can manipulate the votes that all of Albania sees. Of course there may be some anomaly during the counting, but essentially the result is the same. The Socialist Party with all the instruments at its disposal would not allow the recount of votes if there were evidence of ''electoral crime''.

Moreover, the Democratic Party commissioners did not make any notes when they signed the minutes or any complaints. However, if there is vote manipulation in Albania, it is clear that it does not take place during the vote counting process because everything is monitored 'live' in full view of everyone. Vote manipulation in Albania, or the deformation of the will of citizens if it occurs, occurs long before the day of voting or counting.
It happens in various ways, as written in international reports. For example, by using the administration and the influence it has on people. By using people with power or influence in certain areas, by developing a clientelistic electoral engineering, or by forgiving fines three days before the elections. However, all these elements can be considered a mechanism to produce votes, but it is difficult to connect them with the criminal act of vote theft.

Therefore, the Democratic Party's battle for the recount of the country's two largest districts seems more like an attempt to keep alive the idea that the votes were stolen than to recover any electoral results. Even they themselves know that nothing of the sort happens during the counting. However, the difficulty in which it finds itself, after a catastrophic loss, forces the DP to wage a battle that actually seems strained to prove the hypothetical electoral massacre.

Even more so when the difference between the SP and the DP on May 11 is 30 mandates, like never before. Attempts to justify such a deep loss through a recount of the country's two largest districts risk backfiring on the Democratic Party if the recount does not reveal any anomalies during the counting process.

While the Democratic Party is recounting votes in Tirana, the Socialist Party is organizing and counting votes for the upcoming local elections. The entire recount process seems more like a waste of time than it will bring any results for the Democratic Party. Instead of starting the organization for the upcoming local elections as soon as possible, it is wasting time by prolonging the electoral farce of its deep loss on May 11. And it is doing this simply in the interest of its leadership. Not only of the mayor, but also of all the political leaders who are responsible for the loss, and should have resigned for this.
