The National Police of Spain has seized a quantity of 100 kilograms of cocaine in a container coming from Ecuador.
The Spanish Ministry of the Interior says that in the operation 12 members of the criminal group, one of the most active in Europe and South America, consisting of Albanian, Colombian, Moroccan and European citizens, were arrested.
" The organization had direct contacts in major cocaine-selling countries, such as Colombia and Ecuador, and with strong investors residing in Dubai.
The drug, which was brought to Spain by air, was found inside a warehouse in Fuenlabrada, where it had been deposited by members of the organization ," says the Ministry of the Interior.
The operation began in early 2023, when National Police agents began investigating an international criminal organization based on the Costa del Sol and composed of citizens of Albania, Colombia, Morocco and Sweden. Members of this group had direct contacts in the current main centers of international drug trafficking, such as in Colombia, Ecuador and Dubai.
This criminal organization was dedicated to the export of large quantities of cocaine from South America to Europe, both by air and by sea. After several investigations, the agents managed to locate the members of the criminal network in the Costa del Sol and Madrid.
In addition, they discovered a series of meetings between them to prepare shipments of narcotic substances from South America to Spain. On the other hand, it was found that they made trips to other countries, including Dubai, where the main investors of the criminal group were located and gave instructions to the rest of the members to carry out the illegal business.
