Fraklin Xhelaj, known by the nickname "Bebi", has been placed under the security measure of "prison arrest".
The appeal of GJKKO has today made the decision for the 52-year-old, who was extradited a day ago from France.
The 52-year-old is suspected of being involved in the trafficking of heroin, transporting it between Greece, Albania, partly also in North Macedonia.
Therefore, on July 19, 2021, GJKKO has set the security measure "Arrest in prison", for the criminal offenses "Trafficking in narcotics", "Structured criminal group" and "Commitment of criminal offenses by criminal organization and structured criminal group ".
The 52-year-old, a resident of Fier, is suspected of having been involved in three different episodes of this criminal activity, during 2016, two of which remained pending.
From the investigations and coordinated actions between the Albanian and Greek judicial authorities, it has become possible to seize about 27 kg of heroin.
"The Special Court of Appeal for Corruption and Organized Crime, with a panel composed of judges Igerta Hysi (presiding), Saida Dollani (member) and Florjan Kalaja (member), today 07.01.2024, at 10:00, announced the decision on criminal case No. 4, act, date 05.01.2024 registration, registered at the request of the Special Prosecutor's Office against Corruption and Organized Crime, with object: "Interrogation of the arrested person F.Xh. and verification of the conditions of implementation of the insurance measure", and decided:
Continuation of the enforcement of the coercive personal security measure of "Prison arrest" against the citizen F.Xh., son of M. and I., born ***, born in *** and resident in ** *, determined by decision no. 60, dated 19.07.2021 of the Special Court of First Instance for Corruption and Organized Crime", says the announcement of GJKKO.
