Pistoia police arrested 16 people as part of a mega anti-drug operation.
According to the Italian media, for 6 of the arrested, the security measure of prison arrest was assigned, for 4, house arrest with an electronic bracelet was assigned, and for 6 others, an obligation to appear was assigned.
All the suspects, with Italian and Albanian nationality, are accused of trafficking and possession of narcotics, mainly cocaine.
Seizure of money or goods with a total value of over 2 million euros has been ordered against them.
The operation and controls extended not only to the Pistoia area, but also to the provinces of Pisa, Prato and Perugia with the support of local mobile teams.
Investigations into the group began in July 2023 and continued until January 2024.
During the investigations, three flagrant arrests were made, plus two reports at large for possession of narcotics for the purpose of trafficking and the seizure of a total of 1218.7 grams of cocaine, 6.6 grams of hashish, weapons and ammunition.
