
A Turkish citizen has been extradited from Georgia to our country, as he was part of a criminal group that transported immigrants, mainly to Italy, by boat.
The extradited, Yalcin Hanci, is accused by the GjKKO, that during the period 2020-2021, he was a member of a structured criminal group.
As a result of the coordination of actions with counterparts in Georgia, Interpol Tirana finalized the procedure for the extradition to Albania of the internationally wanted Turkish citizen.
"One Turkish citizen is extradited from Georgia. The extradited person is accused by the GJKKO, that during the period 2020-2021, he was a member of a structured criminal group that illegally transported immigrants, mainly to Italy, by boat.
As a result of the coordination of actions with counterparts in Georgia, Interpol Tirana finalized the procedure for the extradition to Albania of the internationally wanted Turkish citizen, a 50-year-old.

He is accused that during the period 23.04.2020-01.10.2021, in cooperation with other citizens and for the purpose of profit, he illegally transported, in Italy, by boat, but also to other countries of the European Union, immigrants from Syria, Egypt and Iran", informs the police.
