A 20-year-old Albanian national has appeared in a Plymouth court, charged with distributing cocaine, following a local police operation.

According to Plymouth Police , investigators from the Proactive Unit arrested the young man after noticing suspicious activity in the West Hoe area. Officers then stopped a vehicle in Victoria Place, Stoke, where they found 18 doses of suspected cocaine and a large amount of cash.

Police said further searches at a flat on Knighton Street uncovered additional amounts of cash, digital scales and paraphernalia related to drug distribution.

The arrested man, identified as Henrei Rrethi, a resident of Plymouth, was questioned at Charles Cross Police Station and subsequently charged with possession with intent to distribute a class A drug (cocaine), possession of criminal property (cash) and driving without insurance.

The district appeared at Plymouth Magistrates' Court on April 9, where he did not enter a plea to the charges. The court ordered him to be remanded in custody until his next appearance at Plymouth Crown Court on May 11.
