An Albanian has been detained by the authorities of Ioannina in Greece. The 33-year-old Albanian was spotted by security officers moving in an area of Ioannina and was arrested on Sunday afternoon. He turns out to be wanted internationally on behalf of the Italian state.
After the verifications, it resulted from his data that a European arrest warrant has been issued for him by the Italian authorities. He is accused in Italy of participating in a criminal organization and illegal trafficking of narcotic and psychotropic substances, an offense for which he risks up to 20 years in prison.
The Albanian has been sent to the Appeals Prosecutor's Office in Ioannina, pending the completion of the procedures for his extradition.
