Artan Tafani confessed to the crimes, the Elbasan Court leaves 11 members of Laert Haxhi's gang in prison

Today, the Court of Elbasan issued the security measure of "prison arrest" for the 11 arrested as suspected of being part of Laert Haxhiu's group.

There were 14 people in the courtroom, while none of the defendants spoke.

The members of this gang were arrested a few days ago as part of the police mega-operation coded "Never Forget", which made it possible to catch several people with criminal risks who were part of the Laert Haxhi Gang, of which the citizen was also a part Artan Tafani.

Artan Tafani was the one who revealed the crimes of Haxhiu's gang.

As for Laert Haxhiu, he is imprisoned in Greece. Considered a wanted person by the Albanian police, he was captured in Ioannina in May of this year.

Haxhiu was driving a BMW car when he was arrested by the authorities there, along with two other Albanians. But before being handcuffed, they tried to escape from the Greek police. During this time, at least 3 other cars collided and then ended up hitting a curb. In addition to the arrest, the police found 3 Albanians and 1400 Euros.

Laert Haxhiu was wanted since 2017, when he was initially sentenced by the Court of Lushnje to 18 years in prison for the charge of attempted murder, as the author of an event in 2016 where two people were injured. This event has as its genesis the revenges related to the old conflicts of the Lushnje gang. Sakaq Haxhiu is also a person involved in drug trafficking in Albania and convicted by the Court of Durrës.

6 murders, 5 explosions with tritol, violent robbery and 3 attempted murders have been solved by the State Police thanks to the penitent, Artan Tafani.

The 39-year-old is a member of Laert Haxhiu's group, an opponent of Aldo Bares, and has discovered several serious criminal events.

Tafani was arrested a week ago for the theft of 30 thousand euros at a currency exchange point in the Astir area, a crime that happened 3 months ago. After he was arrested by the police, he told in detail the criminal events in which he participated together with other members of the group (Read more).

In connection with the "Never Forget" police operation, 16 arrest warrants were issued. 4 of them have not been executed yet as these people are wanted.
