A quantity of approximately 1.5 tons of chocolate was blocked at the Kapshtica customs branch after it was determined that the goods had entered without a declaration and without accompanying documentation.
The Anti-Smuggling Directorate stopped a vehicle during a customs checkpoint check. A thorough inspection of the vehicle revealed that it contained 566 boxes of chocolates with a total weight of approximately 1,500 kilograms.
The authorities found that the product was not accompanied by the appropriate documentation and had not been declared in customs procedures. According to a preliminary assessment, the goods were intended to be placed on the market without fulfilling legal obligations.
Customs investigative structures have initiated criminal proceedings and verifications of the case are continuing.
