
Four members of an Albanian family in Belgium have been convicted of drug trafficking.
The authorities, during the controls, have discovered 56 thousand euros in cash, hidden under the parents' bed.
The case was discovered by operation "Sky", as a result of which the coded messages of the crime were discovered.
The Albanian citizen with the initials A. B, 29 years old, turned out to play a key role in a criminal group that traded at least 958 kilograms of cocaine, with a total value of almost 29 million euros.
The Albanian citizen admitted that he was part of the traffic, also showing that he was transporting up to 200 kilograms of cocaine.
During the search of the apartments, firearms ready to shoot were also found and seized. But early intervention prevented the gang leaders from being identified.
The court sentenced the Albanian A. B to 7 years of imprisonment. He apologized to his parents and two brothers and emphasized that they were not involved in the incident.
But the court sentenced them too, where F. B, 23 years old, was sentenced to 2 years in prison. His father G. B, 57 years old and mother F. B, 52 years old each received 1 year imprisonment.
According to the prosecutor, the parents helped to clean the drug money.
Ten others were charged in the case. One of them was found not guilty. Others received effective sentences of up to 6 years in prison. The 13 convicted gang members were also fined a total of €268,000. All together, 992,500 euros.
