The Court of Tirana decided to postpone for another 20 days the security measure of arrest in prison for 35-year-old Jetnor Zh., who kept his mother, wife and two minor children locked inside their apartment for months.
About three weeks ago, he was arrested after the case was discovered by the authorities, and he was sentenced to 20 days in prison.
In the first session for determining the measure, the Prosecutor's Office changed its position, where it initially requested arrest in prison, and then requested 30 days. The lawyers asked for temporary hospitalization in psychiatry until the psycholegal expertise is done.
The 30-year-old himself spoke briefly in court where he said that he did such an act "to take care of the family members as I was afraid for them".
The new term of 20 more days in prison will be used to carry out medical examinations, as experts failed to present conclusions at Monday's hearing.
