
On the evening of October 5, neighborhood no. 3 of Saranda was shaken by a TNT explosion that took the life of 58-year-old Isuf Jaçaj, a well-known name in the area for his activity in the tourism sector.
The victim was the father of Klaus Jaçaj, 31, currently imprisoned for "supporting the perpetrator" in a previous incident related to a property conflict on the coast.
In neighborhood no. 4 of Saranda, Ramadan Zoto alias Canaj, 43 years old, wounded Gëzim Hajdaraj and Ernest Lama from Kamza with a gun.
After the incident, the police announced a search for the suspected perpetrator along with his brother Erjon Canaj, Artan Murataj and Klaus Jaçaj, who are accused of "failing to report a crime" and "supporting the perpetrator".
According to sources for News 24, Klaus Jaçaj sheltered the perpetrator of the injury in his home to protect him from revenge. Ramadan Canaj then fled towards Korça with the intention of crossing to Greece, but was arrested by the police with a pistol ready to fire.
Klaus' father, Isuf Jaçaj, called his son asking him to surrender to the police:
"You must surrender yourself to the police for supporting the perpetrator of the crime, otherwise I will come find where you are hiding and hand you over to the police with my own hands..."
Just four days after the assistance provided to the author, on July 22, Klaus Jaçaj's car was blown up with TNT. The threats against him were clear:
"Surrender Ramadan Canaj, the perpetrator of the injury, otherwise we will kill you and your family."
On October 5, 800 grams of explosives were placed under Isuf Jaçaj's car, leaving him dead on the spot. Despite his criminal record, he was known for his work with tourists on the coast of Saranda.
